FAMILY VICTORY NETWORK (FVN) P.O. Box 88252, Sioux Falls, SD 57109-8252
Lesson 118–VEHICLE INSPECTION CHECKLIST: Please make copies of this form and then fill out and copy. Email us if you didn’t get a good copy of this form. We’ll PDF you one.

As stated on page 20 about “Ready Kits in Your Vehicles”: A part to having Survivability is always having your vehicles ready. Check your vehicle before each trip. Service it according to the vehicle manual (or download): change the oil, filters and lube if needed every 3,000 miles or 3 months. Fill the gas tank before hurricanes, winter storm warnings, blizzards and other severe weather or other emergencies. Always keep more than half a tank of gas, other wise check fluids and tires weekly. Use the car’s tire pressure guide and make sure to ask your mechanic about tire wear, rotation, and replacement. Have your reads kits, copy of your ready kits items, copies of your important documents, a first aid kit, a small tool kit and other items from Chapter One in the Manual.

ADVANCED SCENARIOS: VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND PART LEVELS
FVN GEMSTONE CODES COBALT, SAPPHIRE, DIAMOND AND ONYX
WITH STATUS COPPER OR ONYX WITH/WITH OUT GREEK Lesson LEVELS
TO MAINTAIN PROPER LEVELS UNTIL RESTORE (STATUS WHITE)

Lesson 119: PERSONAL MAINTENANCE AND PARTS LEVELS: Personal, Business and Fleet vehicle maintenance is on the previous Lesson/page. Having the proper levels of vehicle parts and fluids as well as extra gasoline or diesel is an important part of Survivability: BEING PREPARED FOR ANYTHING AT ANYTIME. At a minimum try to have the level specified. Try to have two weeks of extra fuel available stored safely.

HOW ABOUT IF I CAN’T AFFORD A WEEKS WORTH OF GROCERIES, NO LESS SIX MONTHS? No worries, do what you can do or afford. Work with the Metro Kit Supervisor and the Metro Warehouser. They can make sure that you are involved and in the loop as much as possible and have rations or supplies available for volunteering your efforts of about ten hours a month. If there seems to be no Metro Personnel, then contact Red at 605-838-9759 (7am-9pm ct, Monday to Saturday or email me at redbecker2016@gmail.com ). THIS ALSO GOOD FOR PARTS LEVELS AND FUEL SUPPLIES.

OIL: Be able to change the oil once of at least (5-6 quarts) plus a couple of extra quarts and have two extra oil filters and an oil wrench, oil funnel, oil catcher, and wheel ramps with chocks. If you change your oil, find a place to recycle it.

OTHER FLUIDS: Have extra brake fluid for your type of vehicles, transmission fluid (unless a sealed transmission), power steering fluid, two or more gallons of coolant/anti-freeze, and three gallons or more of window washer fluid.

TIRES: Have a PSI tire gauge and check PSI weekly. Since a lot of spare tires are those doughnut tires, you should have at least two extra tires for spares. It would be better if you have four extra spare tires and one extra rim. As you buy new tires, then save the old ones for spares.

SPARK PLUGS: One extra set plus a few extras. YOU WILL NEED wipers, various light bulbs, other parts and a mechanics book for each vehicle.

HOSES AND BELTS: You should have extra belts if an old vehicle or a new serpentine belt if a newer vehicle. Have replacement hoses for the radiator and critical areas with extra hose clamps.

BRAKES: You might want to have an extra set of brake pads. Yes, all of these parts are spendy, but you can work your way up to building an inventory.

BUSINESS PARTS LEVELS: Business’ with less than five vehicles should have the oil level to make three changes and extra oil. Have four to six extra spare tires per vehicles with two extra rims per. All other part levels should be at a double level from personal.
